Intranet is something similar to extranet but not that much that is a type of a computer network that is based on internet protocol technology used to share information, products or services within the boundaries of an organisation. Having intranet in an organisation is a lot useful than an organisation without it, as it is an important part of an organisation's informative infrastructure and it may even be composed of multiple LAN's.

Intranet has one good feedback which is that it can host multiple websites on it and acts as a point of communication and interaction. Moreover, many of famous internet protocols can be almost found in an intranet as HTTP, SMTP and FTP. One thing that makes it different from extranet is that it is restricted to all of the employees of an organisation.
